March 22, 2017 – Thursday Practice and Saturday’s (March 25th, 2017) Middle School Tournament.
Thursday practice is at Doc Oliver Park, Land Park Dr. between 13th and 14th avenue across the street from where we held December practices.
This Saturday, March 25: MS Open tournament in Dixon. We play one more game after our 3:40 match….it could be for 1st place, in which case it would kick off at 5:40. PLEASE NOTE WE MAY NEED ALL MS OPEN PLAYERS TO STAY THE FULL DAY!
All LIGHT Players must be on site 8:00 for weigh in. MS Open players need not make weigh in but are expected to support the Light team game at 9:00.
We have entered one Open team and one Light team (133 lbs. and under….we FINALLY get to play someone our own size!!!).
The current schedule for the MS tournament on Saturday March 25th is as follows (each game is 30 minutes):
Open – 9:40, 11:00, 1:00 and 3:40
Light – 9:00, 11:40 and 1:40.

Location: Park Terrace. All age grades. 6:00pm – 9:00pm at Park Terrace Swim and Tennis Club, 5500 Parkfield Court, Sacramento, CA 95822
Land Park Motley, one of Northern California’s most established youth rugby programs, fields U-8, U-10, U-12 and Middle School teams.As a founding member of the Northern California Youth Rugby Association, our commitment is to preserve the history and tradition of a sport that creates friendships for life. Those friendships continue to grow as our Motley proudly go on to play at CK McClatchy, Jesuit, Christian Brothers, Rio Americano, El Camino, Kennedy and other High Schools.
We primarily play teams from within the Sacramento Valley and occasionally from the San Francisco Bay Area.
Jerseys will be handed out on a first come first serve basis with completed registration: Dues will be $150 for U-10 and U-12, and $170 for Middle School for 2017; Waiver; Registration Form; and proof of eligibility (Birth Cert/Passport for U-10 and U-12; Student ID for Middle School)
Beginning the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, practices are on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:45 – 5:15 PM. Beginning in January, and as daylight permits, we will start practices later in the afternoon. During December and early January, we practice on the practice baseball fields just north of the zoo. Beginning mid January, and for the rest of the season, our practice field is next to the golf pro shop in Land Park
If you can’t make registration, or missed it, come on out. There is usually still room to participate.
Bring your cleats, a pair of shorts, a t-shirt and a mouthpiece. Mouthpieces are mandatory.
We start the season in Land Park adjacent to the baseball fields and north of the Zoo.
